A ‘toast’ to the New Year with a new diet!

Healthy DietyYou made it through to the next year. Why not kick off your new year’s resolutions with a healthy way to change your diet. The Inside Beauty Team has made a pact to eat better this year! There’s no goal to lose weight or completely cut out our favorites, like bread & cheese, we’re just trying to add some healthy variety in hopes break up the days of pizza and Shake Shack. With the right healthy lifestyle, food, and skincare regimen, looking and feeling healthy is what it’s all about!

New York is a bustling place and with such busy lives, the time for meal prep isn’t always available. That’s why we’ve compiled our favorite, easy recipes all revolving around toast! YUM.

Avocado Toast

Avocado Egg Salad Toast

1 large avocado

2 -3 hard boiled eggs (depending on how many people you’re feeding)

Salt & Pepper to taste

1 Teaspoon of hot sauce (optional)

Put unpeeled avocado & eggs in a medium-sized bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cut up eggs while mixing with avocado until everything is chopped and fully mixed. From there, add hot sauce or any other spices you so choose.

We recommend a toasted English muffin for sandwiches! It’s a quick awesome lunch that you can make right at the office.

Blueberry french toast

Honey, Banana and Blueberry Toast

1 Full Banana

2 Teaspoons of honey

1 Tablespoon of Peanut Butter

Cinnamon to taste

1-2 slices of whole grain bread

Start by toasting the bread. Cut banana into thin slices to lay on the toast. If you want to add some fat and protein spread a thin layer of peanut butter. Top the banana’s with honey, blueberries and cinnamon. Bon appétit!

Greek yoghurt

Greek Toast

Something sweet, something crunchy.

1/8 cup chopped walnuts

1/8 cup Chopped Hazelnuts

1 Tablespoon of honey

2 Tablespoon of Vanille Greek Yogurt

1 Teaspoon of Olive Oil

Pinch of Salt

Pinch of Sugar

Seeded Bread

Mix honey, walnuts, hazelnuts, olive oil, and sugar together in a small bowl. Toast thinly sliced seeded Italian bread lightly. Once the bread is toasted, spread a thick layer of Greek yogurt, and add the mixture on top. Finish by sprinkling sugar and salt!

Ricotta and Fig toast

Ricotta Toast

1 1/2 tablespoons of Ricotta

2 Slices of bakery Italian Bread

1 Teaspoon of Honey

Pinch of Salt

1-2 figs or fruit preserves (if desired)

Lightly toast bread then spread ricotta onto it. Drizzle honey and sprinkle salt. Add fruit reserves and spread on top of ricotta and honey.

Bruschetta

Garden Toast

1/2 cup of sliced grape tomatoes

4 Slices of fresh mozzarella

1 Teaspoon of EVOO

1/2 Teaspoon of Balsamic glaze

Fresh Basil

Fresh Grated Cheese

Pinch of oregano

Pinch of Salt

Thick Texas cut toast is perfect for this dish! Start by layering the mozzarella. In a bowl, mix tomatoes, oregano, salt, basil, and olive oil. Add mixture to the mozzarella, top with balsamic and finish with grated cheese!

Berry toast

Sweet Toast!

Perfect for a late night sweet attack! You only need a few ingredients:

1/2 cup of raspberries

1/2 cup of blackberries

1 oz of Cream Cheese

1 English muffin

Start by toasting your bread. Afterwards spread a thin layer of cream cheese on both pieces and stack raspberries and blackberries on top! Sprinkle with a small amount of powdered sugar. Perfect for a little something sugary.
