Overly large, misshapen, or prominent ears have become a prominent source of insecurity in the world of beauty. Otoplasty, or ear surgery, is a life-changing treatment designed to improve the shape, position, and proportion of the ear, while restoring a more attractive balance and conventional aesthetic to the face. Excess skin, tissue and cartilage are meticulously refined as the ears are carefully repositioned to recreate symmetry. The procedure is available for children as young as 5 years old, as well as teenagers and adults. Our team of highly trained surgeons use undetectable sutures with hidden incisions behind the hear to avoid signs of surgery. Otoplasty has impacted the confidence and aesthetic appeal of thousands of patients, delivering them a new and improved quality of life like never before.
The following individuals may qualify as candidates for Otoplasty. Those with:
Ears affected by injury.
Poor results from a previous ear surgery who are seeking revision.
A defect in the ear structure.
Protruding ears occurring on one or both sides of the head.
ISSUES CORRECTED WITH OTOPLASTY
Overly prominent ears, due to undesirable positioning, size, or both.
Undesirable shape of the ear
Stretched, torn, misshapen or split earlobes.
The Otoplasty procedure:
Size and positioning: An expert Otoplasty surgeon at Inside Beauty will remove excess cartilage by creating an incision around the back surface of the ear. The ear will then be pinned back towards the head and carefully sutured into place with permanent, internal sutures.
Ear shape: Excessive cartilage can make the ear overly large. The shape of the ear may also be altered by making an incision at the back of the ear, followed by a refinement of the cartilage to make the ear smaller.
The earlobe: Otoplasty surgeons can reconstruct a patient’s earlobes by removing the top layer of skin surrounding the rip or hole, repositioning the remaining soft tissue, and then suturing it into place.
Otoplasty procedures are fairly short in comparison to other surgical cosmetic procedures. Complete recovery will generally take about 2-3 weeks.
